He freed India on the strength of goodwill, truth, non-violence, service, self-service, sacrifice, world peace, love for nature, cleanliness, unity and harmony with all beings! He is the best inspiration for all of us. After India's first successful open heart surgery in 16 years, I have been practicing Baha'i Faith , with the purpose of my life to thanking God for this new life. Bapu has been a living example in moving ahead on this path. For the last 40 years, I have left Chandigarh and am learning to live a sustainable lifestyle for the development of tribal women and practicing here in this village Sanawadiya .The students walked around with her and were overwhelmed to see her sustainable living ; trash & trash bin free, plastic / chemical free, eats her own home grown organic food ! First time they saw drinking water boiling and cooking of daal in an earthen pot on solar thermal parabolic cookers The biggest surprise for them was to see Solar kitchen ,carbon-free and without any batteries or photovoltaic panels. It is powered by an auto rotating Solar Dish aligned with Sun , to cook food for 50 people directly with the Sun. They also saw Solar dryers , Solar geysers, solar-wind power ,hundred percent conservation of water .One of the MBA students

to me First of all, I am grateful to my Medi-Caps University because I got the privilege of meeting you Mrs. Dr. Janak Palta McGilligan, who has been awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India. You are a social worker who has done many works directly or indirectly in the fields of women development, women empowerment, women respect, gender equality and many other areas. You went to backward areas and understood the problems there and worked on solving those problems. You have empowered the women there by going to 302 villages. You have also worked in the field of sustainable development. In which you have freed the environment around your house from pollution with solar energy. Even food is cooked in your kitchen through solar energy. Whatever food is cooked at your home, its cultivation is also done by you. You served as the director of Barli Development Institute for Rural Women for 26 years and are the founder director of the board of directors of the same Barli institute and have served as a member of the board of the institute for the last 32 years. On your birthday, you plant as many trees as your age and you also take care of those trees. You have also participated in the resolution of planting 51 lakh trees in Indore which was taken by Kailash Vijayvargiya ji. For all these works, the Government of India has honored you with Padmashree in 2015.
