Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav Inaugurates the 18th All India Police Shooting Championship-2024 in Indore

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the 18th All India Police Shooting Championship-2024 at Rewati Range in Indore today. The competition, organized by the Central Ordnance and Warfare School (COSWT) in Indore, will run from March 24 to March 29, 2025. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, and other dignitaries including Commissioner of Indore Deepak Singh, Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, Collector Ashish Singh, IG COSWT & STC BSF Alok Kumar Singh, and other officials.

During the ceremony, Dr. Shamser Singh, Additional DG/Director of COSWT Academy, Tekanpur, welcomed Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav as the chief guest. The event featured a vibrant parade with synchronized marching tunes performed by BSF and police brass bands. Additionally, the BSF Bold Team displayed weapon drills, while the dogs from the National Dog Training Centre (NTCD), Tekanpur, showcased their security duties and strength, particularly the Indian dog breeds. The Chief Minister took the salute at the parade and formally inaugurated the event by releasing balloons and pigeons into the open sky. He also unveiled a commemorative souvenir for the event.

Dr. Yadav congratulated the BSF team for organizing the event and wished them success. He remarked, “Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a sports hub, and in the future, our state will become the sports capital of India." On this occasion, Dr. Yadav announced the launch of a program to discover talented shooters in Indore. He mentioned that the administration, in collaboration with the BSF, would search for potential shooters and provide them with training at Rewati Range.

This annual championship, which has been on hold for the last five years, is being held after the 2019 event in Pune, Maharashtra. From March 24 to 29, 2025, more than 600 male and female police personnel from Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), state and union territories police forces will participate in the championship. The competition will feature 17 events, and a total of 204 medals, including 68 gold, 68 silver, and 68 bronze, will be awarded under the supervision of officers from the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also visited an exhibition displaying photographs of old and modern weapons and BSF training activities.
