Cool quotient: 21st-century summer survival
TINA KHATRI
As the April sun begins to bake the streets of Indore, the focus shifts from "things" to "thriving." This isn't about collecting plastic eggs; it’s about harnessing stellar power, embracing zero-waste snacks, and keeping cool in the most sustainable way possible.
In a world moving toward conscious living, summer is perfect for practising "Solar Science" and plant-based creativity. Whether part of a vegan family or just looking for low-impact ways to celebrate light, these activities refresh both home and headspace.
21st-century wisdom: Albedo effect
Did you know wearing white in summer isn't just fashion? It's physics! Albedo Effect is the ability of a surface to reflect sunlight. Light colours have high albedo, reflecting heat away from the body, while dark colours absorb it. By choosing light fabrics and keeping Indore green, we help lower "Urban Heat Island" effect in our neighbourhoods.
