Approval Pending from Cabinet for Implementation

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the state government will strengthen the transportation system for rural, urban, and intercity travel across the state. To achieve this, the government will launch the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva (Chief Minister’s Easy Transport Service). The proposal for this plan has already been drafted, and after thorough discussions, suggestions, and agreement from all stakeholders, it will soon be presented to the Cabinet for approval. The announcement came during an initial high-level meeting held at Samatva Bhavan, Chief Minister's residence, to discuss the details of the new transportation service.

Dr. Yadav emphasized that the state would focus on enhancing transportation services, especially in rural and tribal areas, ensuring better accessibility and convenience for passengers. He also stressed that the government would take all necessary steps to improve transportation in these regions. Key officials, including Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel, Urban Development and Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, and others, participated in the meeting virtually. The meeting at Samatva was attended by School Education and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Office Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development and Administration Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Secretary of Transport Manish Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister C.B. Chakraborty, and Director of Public Relations Anshul Gupta, among others.

Dr. Yadav pointed out the importance of studying all aspects of the new transport service plan to meet future passenger transportation needs and ensure maximum benefit for travelers.

Detailed Insights on the New Transport Plan

Transport Secretary Manish Singh provided an in-depth overview of the new transport service plan. According to Singh, the new service will feature a three-tier monitoring system for passenger buses across the state. A state-level holding company will be established at the state capital, and seven regional subsidiary companies will be set up in the major divisions of the state: Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Sagar, and Rewa. Additionally, district-level passenger transport committees will be formed in every district. These bodies will coordinate the operations of passenger transportation, set fare structures, design route charts, and guide the implementation of the plan to ensure that passengers receive the maximum benefit.

Singh also highlighted the revenue generation model for the seven regional subsidiary companies. Under the new plan, the government will prioritize granting permits to contracted buses, which will be directly controlled by the government. Furthermore, an app for passengers and a dashboard for monitoring operations will be introduced to improve accessibility and efficiency. A survey is currently underway to determine the required number of buses for these regional areas, and the results will be used to fine-tune the implementation process.

The new transport service plan is expected to benefit passengers the most, with special provisions for bus operators as well. These provisions aim to provide a better working environment and ensure continuous business for bus operators, preventing disruptions in services. This will not only help maintain smooth transport operations but also ensure that passengers do not face any inconvenience.
