CM Dr Mohan Yadav Unveils Statue of Veer Savarkar in Indore, Vows to Spread His Legacy

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav today unveiled the statue of Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in Prgati Nagar, Indore, honoring the freedom fighter’s monumental contributions to India’s independence. This marks a step forward in the state’s commitment to preserving and promoting Savarkar’s legacy.

A Tribute to a Revolutionary Leader

CM Dr. Yadav praised Veer Savarkar as a great freedom fighter, thinker, reformer, and visionary leader. He highlighted Savarkar’s perseverance despite facing immense hardships, including his imprisonment in the Cellular Jail. “Savarkar’s life exemplifies resilience. His commitment to India’s independence remains an inspiration for generations,” said Dr. Yadav.

Preserving Savarkar’s Legacy

The Chief Minister stressed the need to spread Savarkar’s true history and contributions across the nation. “Our goal is to ensure that every citizen understands the significant role Savarkar played in India’s freedom struggle,” he added. Dr. Yadav further mentioned that places and institutions named after great leaders should carry their legacies forward in official communication.

Symbolic Design of Statue

The base of Savarkar’s statue is uniquely designed in the shape of books authored by him, symbolizing his intellectual contributions alongside his revolutionary actions. The statue was built with support from the local community in Rajendra Nagar, Indore. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava emphasized that this initiative would help foster a sense of pride and historical awareness among the people.
