The event brought together political leaders and citizens to pay tribute to her impactful legacy.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that the exemplary work of Lokmata Ahilyabai, who worked relentlessly for public welfare and established high standards of governance over 300 years ago, continues to inspire us today. He made these comments during the staging of the play Rashtra Samartha Devi Ahilyabai Ki Punya Gatha in Maheshwar, Khargone District, where he also unveiled a book on the life and legacy of Devi Ahilyabai written by Ayushi Jain.
In his address, Dr. Yadav highlighted that Ahilyabai's contributions spanned far beyond the Holkar kingdom, impacting the entire country. He credited her for preserving and promoting Sanatan culture at a time when Mughal rule sought to undermine it. Among her numerous accomplishments were the restoration of revered temples like Somnath and Kashi Vishwanath, the construction of riverfronts, and widespread social reforms. She played a significant role in empowering the poor, supporting agricultural growth, and advancing trade by promoting Maheshwari sarees. Her vision also resulted in the establishment of strong governance and justice systems that set exemplary standards.
Dr. Yadav further added that Ahilyabai’s works have been a source of inspiration for his government. This is evident from the fact that the first-ever Dussehra celebration was organized in Maheshwar, and a cabinet meeting was also held there. He also revealed that the first battalion of the state’s armed forces has been named after Devi Ahilyabai. He expressed his gratitude to the World Mangaly Sabha for organizing the play, which beautifully portrayed Ahilyabai’s life and works.

He emphasized that Ahilyabai’s leadership, along with that of other powerful women like Rani Lakshmi Bai and Rani Durgavati, served as a model of governance in India.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Religious Trusts of Madhya Pradesh, the Yuvraj of Holkar State, the President of World Mangaly Sabha, and several other political and social leaders.
