A group of environmentalists organised a cleanup drive at Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary following the sanctuary’s highest recorded visitor footfall and revenue. The initiative aimed to tackle the growing concern of plastic pollution impacting the sanctuary’s ecosystem.

“We observed the large crowd at Ralamandal and recognised the urgency to prevent plastic waste from damaging the environment,” said CA Rajkumar Shah.

The team, including Jagmeet Singh Kukreja, Sharad Kataria, Pankaj Bhawsar, Ravindra Yadav, Advocate Milind Sharma, CA Gopal Mulani, Sudhir Motwani, Manoj Mourya, and Firoz Patel, collected approximately 50-60 kilograms of plastic waste, filling about 16 bags.

CA Gopal Mulani stressed the importance of responsible tourism. “Visitors must ensure their actions do not harm the environment,” he stated. Pankaj Bhawsar added, “Adopting sustainable practices and reducing plastic use is essential to protect our sanctuary.”

This effort underscores the need for ongoing awareness and action to preserve the natural beauty and wildlife of Ralamandal Sanctuary.
