32nd Weeklong annual Environmental Discourse May 30-5 June, 2024 (World Environment Day) 

    Week Long Environmental Discourse & Impactful Actions For World Environment Day 2024 . UNEP has declared the theme for this year “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” ,calls for the focus of the campaign on land restoration, desertification and drought resilience . As per the theme declared on Earth Day ,2024  

: Our Planet vs. Plastics", calls to advocate for widespread awareness on the health risk of plastics, rapidly phase out all single use plastics, urgently push for a strong UN Treaty on Plastic Pollution, and demand an end to fast fashion." 

                                              

                            Program Schedule - May 30-June5, 2024

Day 1. May 30, 2024 Thursday , 9.30–11.30 a. m at Jimmy McGilligan Centre for     

                      Sustainable Development, Village Sanawadiya. 

Week long Environmental Discourse “Our land : Our future " will be inaugurated by the Chief Guest , Pro. Renu Jain, Honorable Vice Chancellor Devi Ahilya University ,Indore. Participants will be Environmentalists, Activists & Social workers . Rohit Agarwal and Jwalant Shah, directors of Swaaha Company , will narrate their experiences of how they saved the land and rivers with zero-waste and sustainable langar during the Amarnath Yatra of lakhs of people last two years . Water Expert Sudhinder Mohan Sharma will explain the urgency and need to save the land by doing water conservation 

                                  

Day 2 May 31,2024 Friday 11 -12.30. Kasturba Gram College Indore

 

 Keynote Speaker: Dr Mrs . Janak Palta McGilligan will conduct an interactive session with students and faculty of Kasturba Gram College on the topic "We women will make ourselves, the Land of Kasturba Gram Campus and our villages by saving water, soil, seeds and making it chemical free and pollution free .

Day 3. June 1, 2024 Saturday at the Jimmy McGilligan Centre 

Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board Scientist Dr. Dilip Wagela will talk about the impact of Polluion on Land and how to save it to all the Participants including group of IIT Indore staff , family members and others . Janak Palta McGilligan "Pollution is the biggest threat to the Land" and she will tell ways to protect it by "Conservation of soil, water and biodiversity . The land of IIT Indore campus can be restored by banning single use of plastic and disposables and all the students should take this ownership and responsibility and will continiue their practice life long

Day 4 June 2, 2024 Sunday 9.30–11.30 at the Jimmy McGilligan Centre

  Ambrish Kela, Founder and Director of Jaivik Setu Dr. Jayshree Sikka Botonist 

Dr. Shefali Sangal Ayurveda and Varun Raheja, Director, Raheja Food company will have deliberations with the group of farmers and aim at increasing the number of organic farmers growing chemical free food and medicinal plants to save the future of everyone on earth by saving soil, water and indigenous seeds."

Day 5 June 3. 2024 Monday 9.30–11.30 at the Jimmy McGilligan Centre

  Varun Raheja, Director of Raheja Food Company and Janak Palta McGilligan, representative of organic food from Holland, will promote increasing the land under food products and make the farmers healthy and prosperous by training the group of Raheja Food Processing Company and interested people in using solar cooker/dryer in sustainable livelihood.

   

Day 6 June 4, 2024 Tuesday at 10 a. m at Shri Vaishnav Institute of Management Auditorium .

Keynote speaker Dr. Janak Palta McGilligan will address the students and faculties of this Institute “How to save the land and make it healthy by leading a sustainable lifestyle and increasing greenery and biodiversity by giving up all types of single-use plastics” 

Day 7 June 5 .2024 Wednesday 9.30 -11.30 Jimmy McGilligan Centre 

Chief Guest : Prof. Upinder Dhar, Honorable Vice Chancellor of Vaishnav University, Indore 

GUest of Honor is Dr. Santosh Dhar Dean of Research / 

Particpants are group of FICCI Flow Indore will celebrate " the World Environment Day2024 with all . Janak Palta McGilligan will give a welcome address and Present the brief report about the Outcome and action plan based on the entire week's Discourse. Ficci Flow President Mrs. Vibha Jain will share their experience . Validictory Address by Chief Guest Prof. Upinder Dhar . Sh Virendra Goyal ,Trustee of the Foundation will express his gratitude at the closing ceremony!
