Indore Students and Organization to be Honored at State-Level World Consumer Rights Day Program
Indore students and the Jagrook Upbhokta Samiti Adarsh Nagar will receive state-level awards at the World Consumer Rights Day program in Bhopal on March 21, 2025. The event will include exhibitions, competitions, and awareness campaigns focused on consumer protection.

On the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day, celebrated annually to recognize the importance of consumer protection and rights, three students and an institution from Indore will be awarded at the state-level program scheduled for March 21, 2025 at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center in Bhopal. The ceremony will be hosted under the distinguished patronage of Shri Govind Singh Rajput, the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
The event, which was initially set for March 15 but postponed due to Holi celebrations, will bring together various stakeholders involved in consumer rights awareness. The program will include recognition for outstanding efforts in consumer protection and raise awareness about consumer rights through exhibitions, competitions, and performances.
Awards and Recognition for Indore’s Contributions
Among the prominent honorees is the Jagrook Upbhokta Samiti Adarsh Nagar, an organization from Indore dedicated to consumer awareness and protection. This institution will be awarded the First Prize, which includes a prize of Rs. 1,11,000 along with a certificate of recognition. The organization has been recognized for its consistent efforts to promote consumer rights and address issues affecting consumers in the region.
Additionally, three talented students from Indore will also be celebrated for their excellence in consumer awareness initiatives:
- Pawan Taktode, a student from Indore, will receive the Second Prize in the state-level essay competition.
- Hiral Dasondhi, another Indore student, will be honored with the Third Prize in the same competition.
- Poonam Bodde of Indore will win the Second Prize in the state-level poster competition.
Consumer Awareness Exhibitions and Events
As part of the celebrations, a Consumer Awareness Exhibition will be held, showcasing a wide range of informational booths from various departments, corporations, and organizations. Some of the participating organizations include the Weights and Measures Department, Food and Drug Administration, Bureau of Indian Standards, Food Corporation of India, M.P. State Civil Supplies Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and more. Each of these stalls will offer vital insights into consumer rights and will provide live demonstrations, such as mobile lab tests and quizzes for children. The event will also include street plays and skits to engage the audience on the importance of consumer protection.
The exhibition will serve as an educational hub for visitors, with specialized sections dedicated to standardization, quality control, and consumer education. The best exhibition stall will also receive a special award in recognition of its impactful contribution to raising consumer awareness.
