Students at Urjasvini Special School, Indore, celebrated Independence Day with a cultural programme themed “Adopt Swadeshi, Save the Nation.” The event featured a series of engaging performances, including songs, skits, dance routines, and poetry, all centred around the idea of national pride, self-reliance, and preserving India’s cultural and economic heritage.
Participants included Harsh, Alfesh, Samriddhi, Yatharth, Vandan, Abhay, and Kosen, who actively contributed to the programme, using performance as a medium to share meaningful messages.
Child psychologist and counsellor Dr. Vini Jhariya, who addressed the gathering, stressed the importance of historical awareness among young learners. “Until children understand the struggles behind India’s independence, they will not fully value the privileges they now have,” she said.
The celebration reflected the school’s focus on holistic development, encouraging students to engage with social and national themes in creative, expressive ways. Teachers, parents, and staff attended the event and applauded the children for their confidence and thoughtfulness.
The programme ended on a patriotic note, leaving a lasting impression on both participants and the audience, and reinforcing the timeless relevance of Swadeshi ideals in today’s context.
