Young Poets from Across Indore Shine at ‘Dharohar’ Inter-School Poetry Recitation

Hussaina Saifee (Choithram School, Indore), Revansh Sharma (Army Public School, Mhow), Ritika Mehra (St. Mary Champion School, Bhopal), Pahel (Shree Cloth Market School, Indore), Parisa Kochar (Delhi Public School, Bhopal), and Amogh Mishra (Vidhyanjali International School, Indore) were named top performers at Dharohar, an inter-school poetry recitation competition hosted by Delhi Public School, Rau.

The event brought together students from 52 schools across Indore and surrounding areas, creating a platform for young voices to explore and express through the art of poetry.

Organised by Delhi Public School, Rau, Dharohar was envisioned as a tribute to India’s rich literary heritage and a means to inspire students to engage with themes like patriotism, nature, identity, resilience, and human values through poetry in both Hindi and English.

Participants competed in three categories:

  • Category I (Classes 1–2): Hussaina Saifee (English) and Revansh Sharma (Hindi)

  • Category II (Classes 3–5): Ritika Mehra (English) and Pahel (Hindi)

  • Category III (Classes 6–8): Parisa Kochar (English) and Amogh Mishra (Hindi)

Judges included poets, educators, and literary experts such as Dr. Roshan Benjamin, Dr. Swati Jain, Kavi Pradeep "Naveen", Dr. Pushpendra Dubey, and others, who evaluated students on voice modulation, clarity, content understanding, and emotional depth.

Educationist Asha Nair, addressing attendees, remarked, “Dharohar is more than a competition. It’s a cultural platform where students connect deeply with language and heritage.” She emphasised the role of creative expression in shaping confident, articulate young individuals.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners were presented with trophies and certificates in the presence of peers, educators, and school representatives.
