Indore's Collector Ashish Singh convened an important meeting today to discuss fire safety measures for residential areas in the city, especially focusing on multi-story buildings. The meeting involved key officials from various departments, including the Fire Brigade, Municipal Corporation, and Revenue Department, to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to prevent fire hazards in high-rise buildings and public spaces.

Establishment of New Fire Stations:
To ensure a quicker response time to fire emergencies, eight new sub-fire stations will be set up in critical areas of Indore. These stations will be strategically located in locations such as Nehwar Road, Super Corridor, Vijay Nagar, Star Square, and Dhar Road. "These fire stations will be equipped with modern fire-fighting vehicles and the latest fire safety tools," said Collector Ashish Singh during the meeting. -
Focus on High-Risk Buildings:
The administration will place special emphasis on buildings with more than three stories, including hospitals, multi-story residential complexes, malls, commercial buildings, cinemas, hostels, and schools. "We are focusing on high-risk buildings to ensure that they meet all necessary fire safety standards," said Singh. These buildings will undergo rigorous checks, and the required safety measures will be implemented. -
Advanced Fire Safety Resources:
In addition to the new fire stations, the administration will provide advanced fire safety resources such as fire robots, drone cameras, and fire safety kits for fire personnel. These measures will help increase the efficiency and effectiveness of fire responses across the city. Modern fire vehicles and equipment will be acquired with budget allocations from the state government. -
Special Fire Safety Campaign:
A special fire safety inspection campaign will begin tomorrow to ensure compliance with fire safety protocols across the city. "We will focus on inspecting all buildings to ensure that they have proper fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency exits," added Singh. -
Strict Action for Non-compliance:
In case any building fails to meet fire safety standards during the inspection, strict actions will be taken, including the sealing of such buildings. "The safety of citizens is our top priority. If any building is found lacking in safety measures, it will be sealed until compliance is ensured," Singh warned.
Appeal to Citizens:
Collector Ashish Singh also appealed to the citizens of Indore, urging them to take proactive measures to ensure fire safety in buildings over three stories. “It is essential for property owners to implement fire safety measures such as fire extinguishers, alarms, and proper evacuation routes. We will not hesitate to take action if these measures are not met,” he stressed.
Modernizing Fire Response Times:
The administration is also focusing on reducing fire response times across the city. A special plan is being devised to enhance fire-fighting capabilities, with additional resources being allocated for faster emergency responses.
