Meetings at ERO, DEO, CEO Levels with Political Parties Continue at Ground Level
Election officials at various levels are conducting multi-party meetings across the country to resolve pending issues before the 2025 elections. These meetings are taking place with active participation from political parties and will conclude by March 31, 2025.

Across the country, 4,123 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) are conducting multi-party meetings at the polling station level in their respective Assembly Constituencies (ACs) to resolve any pending issues. Similarly, all 788 District Election Officers (DEOs) and 36 Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) in all 28 states and 8 Union Territories have been directed to organize such meetings at the district and state/UT levels to resolve pending matters in accordance with the legal framework outlined in the Representation of the People Act 1950 and 1951, the Electoral Registration Rules 1960, the Conduct of Elections Rules 1961, and the manuals, guidelines, and instructions issued by the Election Commission from time to time.
These meetings have already begun with the active participation of national and state political parties. All such meetings will be completed by March 31, 2025, in every Assembly Constituency, district, and state/Union Territory across the country.
This initiative is in line with the directions issued by Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Gyanesh Kumar during a conference held on March 4, 2025, at the IIDEM, New Delhi, where CEOs from all states/UTs, along with one DEO and one ERO from each state, participated. The meeting was also attended by Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi.
Political parties and their authorized representatives, such as Booth Level Agents (BLAs), Polling Agents, Counting Agents, and Election Agents, have specific roles in the electoral process, including the management of elections.
The active and enthusiastic participation of political parties in these ground-level meetings at the Assembly Constituency, district, and state/UT levels has been welcomed. The Election Commission urges all national and state political parties to actively leverage their ground-level participation in collaboration with election officials to resolve any pending issues in a timely manner.
